T minus 6 days

A bone marrow transplant is the only potential cure for MDS and today we begin a 3 part journey. Part 1 is the transplant process. Part 2 is the first 100 days post transplant and part 3 the long term monitoring. We started the day in the radiology department where Annette received a Trifusion catheter which will be used for drawing blood and giving intravenous fluids. Katie arrived around noon and brought us a delicious lunch. Following a too long wait in the recovery area we were moved to room T918 in the Emory Hospital Tower which will be our home for the next month.  Jarred arrived with a home cooked meal for dinner and tonight Annette will receive her first round of chemo medication "Fludarabine" around 10 pm.

  1. What a blessing to have Katie & Jarred so close! Love that beautiful view -- Katie and Annette as well as the window view. Love and prayers continuing your way from here in Tampa, FL.
