Today has been a tougher day. Last night, Annette began a four-hour infusion around 9:30pm and did not get to sleep before 1:30am. This morning, she had her first infusion of a heavy-duty chemo called Mephalan. The Mephalan can cause mucositis, but she battled that by keeping her mouth cold with ice chips for 2 1/2 hours. Annette has definitely begun to feel the effects of the chemo and she is much more tired and nauseous today than she has been.
Carl, Annette's brother and the bone marrow donor, and his wife Jeannie came in today. They came by the hospital to visit and have dinner, a gumbo made by Katie and Jarred.
Tonight, Annette has one last round of chemo and then tomorrow will be a rest day before the transplant on Monday.
May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance with patience with joy.
